Barstool founder reveals new details of LIBRA issuance, says 6 million tokens have been returned to project founder

On February 17, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy recently disclosed new details about the issuance of the LIBRA token project. He said he originally planned to join the project as a consultant and purchased tokens at the time of issuance, but later decided to return about 6 million tokens after project consultant Hayden Davis told him that he could not publicly receive the gifted tokens.

“[Davis said] ‘You can’t say we gave you these tokens’… If you don’t let me say you gave me the tokens and I was part of the project, then I can’t accept them. So I just gave them back.”

“I’m not going to tweet about this fucking token sale and pretend I’m like, ‘Oh, Millais is awesome’… and not mention they gave me the tokens,” Portnoy said. “By the way, I bought a lot of them myself… They didn’t give me any tokens before the sale.”

Portnoy said he trusted Davis because of his experience in crypto and wanted to get access to Millais by participating in the project. Davis had proposed arranging an interview with Millais to “introduce” the Argentine president to the world.
